Chiller Plant Design and Selection
We size the plant from a proper cooling load calculation, not a rule of thumb. That includes choosing between air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, screw, scroll or centrifugal compressors, N+1 redundancy, primary/secondary or variable primary pumping, and thermal storage where it makes sense. Equipment is selected for high-ambient Saudi conditions and to meet Saudi Building Code (SBC 601) energy requirements.
Chiller Supply and Installation
Our scope covers rigging and setting the chillers, chilled water and condenser water piping, pumps, valves, expansion tanks, air separators, insulation and cladding, cooling towers for water-cooled plants, and the power and control wiring back to the MCC and BMS.
Testing, Balancing and Commissioning
Every plant is flushed, pressure tested, water-balanced and commissioned with the manufacturer. We verify flow rates, delta-T, capacity at design conditions and control sequences before handover, and provide as-built drawings, O&M manuals and operator training.
Chiller Maintenance and Repair
Our HVAC maintenance teams service chillers we installed and plants installed by others: planned preventive maintenance, condenser and evaporator tube cleaning, refrigerant leak testing and charging, oil analysis, compressor overhaul, controls troubleshooting and emergency breakdown response. Chiller Replacement and Plant Upgrades
Older plants can often cut energy use substantially with high-efficiency chillers, VFDs on pumps and cooling tower fans, and optimized plant controls through the BMS. We plan replacements in phases so the building stays cooled during the works.
Air-Cooled vs Water-Cooled Chillers in Saudi Arabia
Air-cooled chillers are simpler, need no cooling tower or make-up water, and suit most commercial buildings, warehouses and sites where water is expensive or scarce. Their efficiency drops as outdoor temperature rises, so units must be rated for high ambient conditions.
Water-cooled chillers with cooling towers are more efficient and better suited to large plants such as factories, hospitals, district cooling and big malls, but they need a plant room, water treatment and more maintenance. How often should a chiller be serviced in Saudi Arabia?
Most plants need monthly operational checks, quarterly preventive maintenance and an annual major service including tube cleaning and refrigerant and oil checks. Plants running 24/7, such as hospitals and food factories, usually need closer monitoring.
How long does chiller installation take?
A single packaged air-cooled chiller replacement can take a few days once equipment is on site. A new water-cooled plant with cooling towers, pumps and piping typically takes several weeks to a few months depending on size and access.
Do you maintain chillers from all brands?
Yes. Our technicians maintain the major chiller brands used in Saudi Arabia and work with the manufacturer for warranty-related work and spare parts.
Can you reduce our chiller plant energy bill?
Usually, yes. Tube cleaning, water treatment, correct setpoints, VFDs and plant sequencing through the BMS often deliver meaningful savings without replacing the chillers.
